Tomorrow I start my meds to try and get into remission from Lupus. Lupus is not contagious. It is an autoimmune disorder that affects the whole body. Unlike rhematoid arthritis, there could be a turn for the worse when the vital organs are affected. I am lucky it is only in my joints which makes the arthritis hurt even more. The funny thing with all of this is I am healthier yet sick at the same time. I am in pain but I can keep moving. I am going on Plaquinil again. I am not looking forward to this. I know the side effects. It is not pleasant. I am going to be sick. Also, I go on a powerful antibiotic that will kill all the infection. And I get to go on Immitrex again for migraines as result of the previous meds and an antinausea pill as well as vitamins...i will be taking about 7 pills. Life is going to be fun...

I didn't know you had Lupus.
My aunt has it, too...you wouldn't be able to tell from knowing her, though. The only reason I remember is because something related to either the condition or the medicine she was taking caused some kind of trouble during her first pregnancy that led to a miscarriage.

It was a really sad time, for our entire family.

I don't know that much about Lupus. Why is it named after the latin term for 'wolf'? How can you tell if you have it?

I don't mean to poke my nose around in it, so much--I'm just so curious. ^.^ I hope you're feeling okay.
